you could be talking about a turbo that makes 250hp to one that can make over 1000whp.
OK let me start over.
First off welcome to [ www.twinturbo.net ] its a great resorce and something that will help you over time with your 300zx. Our cars came twin turbo from the factory. Yes there are a handful of people that have gone single turbo conv. They did all the work them selfs along with fabricating the exhaust manifolds to bolt to one turbo. MY .02 ONLY its a waste of time. Spend all that time and money just to go single turbo to limit your self to me is a waste of time and money. Your talking about doing a t04. In other words you want to go single turbo becauce you could be talking about a sc61, 63 or even a 66 and bigger. A t04 is the housing. YOU CAN MAKE THE SAME POWER with a twin setup and have a faster spool up. Now for who makes better turbos. HKS has a twin ball bearing turbo setup for us that alot of people have made ALOT of great power with along with a pretty quick spool up. GReddy makes 2 kits for our cars. the 15g kit and the 16g kit (that can be upgraded to 18g's or 20g's) Using 16g turbos a member called Wagz when he had his black Z made over 700whp. Russle at z1 motorsports in his silver Z made over 1000whp with 20g's. But if your looking for more of a streetable kind of turbo id suggest z1 motor sport's stage 2's or JWT sport 500's or 600's and een 535bb's or GReddy 15g kit. those turbos will put you close or just over 500whp. No matter how you look at it. at 500hp your motor better but up to par because if something is off that a new motor might want to be in your budget. personally everyone on here is going to tell you the same thing.
